GAG16 - Know Your Local Cachers Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

lostinthegarden: After some deliberation, we've decided to retire this one. Some of the cachers mentioned in the puzzle are not very active any more, and rather than re-work the puzzle yet again, we'll put it to rest. Thanks to all who visited!

Geocache Description:

This cache has been placed for the GAG16 event which begins at 6:00 PM on October 28, 2011. Please do not search for the cache before that time.

The National Capital Region has a great community of accomplished geocachers. To solve this puzzle, you need to identify sixteen of them, and then do a little simple math to determine the coordinates of the cache. To make the task easier, the number of characters (not necessarily all letters) in each geoname is given. Admittedly, this puzzle will still be difficult for visitors to the area and newcomers to geocaching, so you may have to ask for some assistance. It's a good way to meet the locals! Here goes...
