KC
Battleship
Welcome to
KC Battleship. You're on the hunt for The Patrol Boat.
This is
one of 5 “Ship” caches hidden as part of the KC
Battleship series. The cache is not hidden at the posted
coordinates. In order to find the true coordinates you must first
find 2 of the 100 Battleship “Grid” caches that
indicate “hits” for the Patrol Boat. Each hit will hold
a piece of the coordinates for this cache. Once you have all hits,
complete the coordinates as follows:
N 39°
AA.AAA / W 094° BB.BBB
Example:
One hit will give you the numbers for A. The clue in the cache will
appear like this: A=1, 2, 3, 4, 5. The 1 will go in the first place
for A, 2 will go in the second. *Note: This is only an example.
Those are not necessarily the correct numbers for A. No other ship
cache coordinates will use the same letters. The other ships and
the number of hits for each are:
Submarine = 3 Hits
Destroyer = 3 Hits
Battleship = 4 Hits
Carrier = 5 Hits
View the
other Ship caches for details specific to those hides. They are
named:
KC
Battleship: Carrier GC35381
KC Battleship: Battleship GC35HVE
KC Battleship: Destroyer GC3607F
KC Battleship: Submarine GC366CK
***Be sure
to record the clue found in this cache as it is necessary to find
the KC Battleship Final GC34YT4***
You Sank My Battleship!!!
Saving and printing the map image above will
help you keep track of completed squares and found hits. Just as in
Battleship, when you’ve found a hit, you know another must be
in one of the squares to the left, right, above or
below.
***PLEASE
READ*** A lot of time, planning and effort by several of your
fellow geocachers has gone into making this set of 100+ caches a
reality. PLEASE do not post any spoiler photos or logs that would
give a clue to a hit or miss. If you do, you will be contacted and
asked to edit your log. Also sharing information with other cachers
or asking for it is discouraged, so we ask that you please don't.
Besides it's obvious when someone has taken shortcuts. Keep the fun
in the game but most of all have fun!!!
*** CACHE
INFORMATION***
For the best adventure, park in the first parking lot on the left
as you pass the gate, you'll also find a trailhead in this parking
lot. The path from here is paved for much of the way, though not
handicap friendly as there are many hills. There are trails that
will bring you to within 30 feet of the cache, how long you walk
depends on the trail you take. Some light bushwhacking will be
required.
Gate hours to the park:
April 15 to Oct. 31 - 7am to 10pm
Nov. 1 to April 14 - 7am to 6pm
Permission granted by park officials.
