Trusham Station - a vital link in the Teign Valley Railway Line! Cache & Dash friendly, and should be wheelchair accessible.
Teign Valley Line - Trusham Station
This station was part of the Teign Valley Railway Line, 1882 to 1967 shortly after the nearby Great Rock mine also closed. “Treacle”, or Shiny Ore (Micaceus Haemetite) was brought down from these mines by barrel and transported by this station. Roadstone was also transported out of the valley from Trusham Quarry nearby.
The area to the south was the loading platforms - mostly covered over, and next to those are some railway buildings and more platforms in a private garden you can see from the lane. Just the other side of the bridge is the original station building, now converted to a house.
