Geocache Description:

Another in a short series highlighting the locations of the emergency sevices in the North East.

Cache is a magnetic container slightly smaller than a 35mm film canister

While the container is magnetic the circular information disk for Barlow House is not. Be careful how you replace it.

In this case you are being brought to Barlow House. Built in 1734 it became a police station in 1861 when the Royal Irish Constabulary moved in. The RIC were disbanded in 1922 and the Garda took residence in September 1922 where they remained until 1997 when they moved the short distance to the bottom of the hill facing Barlow House.

The house is currently occupied by the Drogheda Arts Centre.
