Geocache Description:

A small cache in a wild and lonely part of Warby Ovens National Park.

Who knows why this trig station was placed here, not on top of a hill and with little view out in any direction. But it is quite amazing to stumble on it several ks from the nearest track. I originally found it while making a map of this area for the Victorian Orienteering Championships in 1988.

The nearest parking area is at Wenhams Camp at 36.20.463, 146.12.248 (see Waypoint) - with picnic facilities and toilets. A walking track (Friends Track) from there will take you to within 500m of the cache. There are great views from Mt Warby along the track, and many kangaroos graze in the clearing at Wenhams.

Allow 90-120 minutes walking time from Wenhams.

This is now National Park so no dogs.

Cache when placed was a small container with logbook, small pencil and a few small coins.

NOTE you may pass close to or through a cinnamon fungus affected area on the way to this one - please obey road closure and quarantine signs and be prepared to clean your boots with bleach after returning! See (visit link) .
