Geocache Description:

The zoo opened here in 1950. It kept giving dreams to the child until moved to the Mt. O-mori in 1972.

The accident was occared that the lion's in the zoo escaped, and was shot and killed on October 19, 1970. The lion that grew old and was calm in the character was children's popular animal.
The keeper who cleaned lion's cage forgot to close the key, and the lion slipped out the door of the back of the cage at 8:00 AM.
He has advanced toward the north along the fence set up in the cliff. Finally he was shot at policeman's and the hunting club member's rifle at about 9:40 and he died.
The stone union has been left in the vicinity where the lion was shot and and killed. This is called a mark in animal's memorial cenotaph.
