Snagglepuss was another of my favorite cartoon, a feline and I
love all things feline related. He was also a
Hanna-Barbera production.
Snagglepuss was a pink mountain lion. Snagglepuss first showed
up in a few episodes of The Quick Draw McGraw Show then it was a
regular segment on The Yogi Bear Show.
Snagglepuss lived in a cave which he was always trying to make
better for himself. But no matter what he tried to do he always
ended up back where he started or worse off then before.
Snagglepuss had some catchphrases "Heavens to Murgatroyd" and "Exit,
stage left (or right)!" Heavens to Murgatroyd was first used by
Bert Lahr in the 1944 film "Meet the People"
The charater of Snagglepuss was used for some Kellogg's cereal
commercials in the 1960s, Bert Lahr filed a lawsuit claiming that
the similarity of his voice and Snagglepuss voice might cause
viewers to think that Lahr was endorsing the products. As part of a
settlement they had to use a disclaimer to appear on each
commercial "Snagglepuss voice by Daws Butler".
