cache is a small clip lock box and was the starting place for Harrys TB
New location has a view of a small driving range nearby please make sure cache is well covered
Bonnie and I love Geocaching thanks to our friends Teamtan, Ladybird and Andybug for introducing us to it but we felt there should be some more caches locally. This is a walk not far from our home and can tie in with other caches. We've decided to set 12 + 1 caches on this circular and may extend them later. The Micros and nanos do not have pens but the smalls (1 litre clip lock boxes) and regular (3 litre clip lock boxes) have pens and a selection of swaps.
Pharisee has a couple of great series not too far away that you could pick up as well if you'd like to make a day of it.
You start you walk near the cache called Hidden Hayling (this can be the last one you pick up),its a long road and lots of room for cars to park.
Turn right on the footpath and start off with a bit of semi-urban walking.
This area is Wigmore and development was mostly started in the early 70s (when I moved to the area). Employment used to be mostly at a car plant in Luton but since the closure of the car plant and expansion of the airport employment is more varied (you will still see a lot of one type of car in Luton though).
It can get quite overgrown at the start and muddy in winter. Next part is a proper developed walkway (Bridelpath Cache can be picked up here) and then onto public footpaths that are part of the Chiltern way. Round into Cockernhoe then up to Mangrove Green can divert and pick up Cakewalk). More footpath across fields to return to your parking (passing Hidden Hayling on the way)
This is a 3 mile circular walk around the edge of Luton and into Hertfordshire some of the walk is across fields so not wheelchair suitable and there are a couple of kissing gates.
We hope you enjoy our series as we were well overdue to set some caches but wanted to try and do a circular so took a while to decide where.
