Near the top of GrayHill on the outskirts of Wentwood Forest. Wonderful views across to England on a fine Day.
One very steep section, and can be muddy at times.
(not suitable for buggies)
Cache placed with the kind permission of Forestry Commission Wales.
Parking is available at Forester's Oaks Picnic Site (N51 38.481, W002 49.630).
Carefully cross road and head up the tarmac lane opposite. Ignore all turnings, continue onto sandy path and shortly after go through the wooden gate on the left and up the steep hill.
Once at the top catch your breath, admire the view and then head towards the cache.
Cache is a small clip lock camo box.
Once found, you can either retrace your steps, or for a circular route carry on along the path and take a left turn just past a post (with a number 7 on it).
Head down the hill, and when you meet a broad forest track turn left. After a while you will join the lane you walked up, and you can turn right and walk down this back to the car park.
An alternative would be to do a version of the route in reverse following the numbered marker posts.
The circular walk should take 40 minutes to 1 hour.
