Geocache Description:

This is a small geocache with room only for a log book (bring your own pen or pencil.) Nice little area next to a small fishing lake. The Public footpath and national cycle path run passed the cache, but cars are not allowed down the road unless fishing or gaining access to the nursing home. Parking can be on Grove Road off Manor road, or the opposite closer side at Paxton Road.

The area of Tapton near Chesterfield is probably most famous has being the home of George Stephenson who built the railway in the immediate area. George lived at Tapton house which is situated nearby for the last 10 years of his life and died there at the age of 67.The house was then purchased by Charles Markham of Staveley Coal and Iron Company. It is now part of the Chesterfield Collage campus, but the gardens are open to the public and also contain a few nice Geocaches. Tapton Grove nursing home which is near this cache is another wonderful building, but despite visiting this many times with work I can find little history (perhaps you can help).
