The Green County Barn Quilts project started in 2008, and by the end of 2010 the 100th barn quilt was installed. Barn quilts are painted wooden squares (designed like one block of a real quilt pattern), generally 8 x 8 feet in size. Some are located on "working" barns, and others are displayed on "retired" barns. It's not as challenging as geocaching, but hunting for the barn quilt locations is a true adventure in experiencing the roads less traveled of the Green County countryside.
This farm was purchased in 1981 and the buildings were built in 1996. The Edlers have been dairy farmers for 35 years. The layout and painting of this design was done by Dennis & Betsy Laurer. This Barn Quilt is called Double Wedding Ring.
