Visiting this cache will take you on a walk into the Papamoa Hills Regional Park. You have 2 options for where to park your vehicle.
We suggest you visit the Summerhill Farm Park, on Reid Road. This area is open 7 days a week from dawn until dusk, and entry is by a gold coin donation. Summerhills offers both walking and mountain biking trails. This is the easiest walk in to the cache, and offers great views. Before or after this cache, you could also collect Papamoa Hills IV (GC349Y2)
Alternatively, you could park at the Papamoa Hills Regional Park carpark, on Poplar Lane, off SH2. This would be your preferred option if you are collecting BJ003 (GC2PDDV) & Papamoa Hills III (GCQ17D) at the same time.
Toilet facilities are available at both carparks. The cache is a 400ml sistema with room for trackables and small trades. At the time of placement the cache area gave views out to Motiti Island and the ‘Rena’ container ship which ran onto the Astrolabe Reef on 5th October 2011.
