K&K LOST Graveyard
On the lonely, little cultivated southwest coast of Fuerteventura, there is a collection of houses called Cofete. Poor farmers, some homeless immigrants live here in impoverished huts which lean against the mountain slopes of Mount Jandia.
Close to this poverty, then a wild romantic fascinating Atlantic Ocean beach of fine yellow sand. The steady trade winds produce meter-high waves that break here in raging surge.
Approximately 100 meters away from the spray, there is the lost cemetery of Cofete. Locals, vagabonds, and drowning victims lie buried here: A hole in the sand dunes, a mound of volcanic rock, a makeshift wooden cross made of crate boards, occasionally a name. Above all this rushes the regular trade winds in different strengths with the beach sand blown up to the graves, forming small dunes at each plot. An image of lostness - but also romance. The tracks in the fine sand are blown away instantly, you are alone with the lonely dead. A symbol of the transience of human life!
The cache:
In the stone wall of the lost graveyard, we have hidden a cache. The cemetery may or may not be entered for searching.
En la solitaria y poco cultivada costa suroeste de Fuerteventura, hay un grupo de casas llamadas Cofete. Pobres campesinos, algunos inmigrantes sin hogar viven aquí en chozas empobrecidas que se apoyan en las laderas del monte Jandia.
Al lado de esta pobreza, a continuación, una salvaje romántica y fascinante playa del Océano Atlántico de fina arena amarilla. Los vientos alisios producen olas de un metro de altura que rompen aquí en oleada furiosa.
Aproximadamente a 100 metros de la espuma, está el cementerio perdido de Cofete. Autoctonos, vagabundos y víctimas de ahogamiento están enterrados aquí: Un agujero en las dunas de arena, un montículo de roca volcánica, una improvisada cruz de madera hecha de tableros de embalajes, de vez en cuando un nombre. Por encima de todo esto corren los constantes vientos alisios a diferente intensidad llevando la arena de la playa hasta las tumbas, formando pequeñas dunas en cada parcela. Una imagen de abandono - pero también romantica. Las huellas en la fina arena se borran instantáneamente, estás sólo con los solitarios muertos. ¡Un símbolo de la transitoriedad de la vida humana!
El caché:
En el muro de piedra del cementerio perdido, hemos escondido un caché. No es necesario visitar el cementerio para buscarlo.
An der einsamen, kaum bebauten Südwestküste von Fuerteventura liegt eine Häuseransammlung mit dem Namen Cofete. Arme Bauern, einige entwurzelte Zugewanderte hausen hier in ärmlichen Hütten, die sich an den Gebirgshang des Monte Jandia lehnen.
Nahe dieser Armut dann ein wildromantischer-bezaubernder Atlantikstrand mit feinem, gelben Sand. Der stete Nordostpassat erzeugt meterhohe Wellen, die sich hier in brausender Brandung brechen.
Knapp 100 Meter von dieser Gischt entfernt liegt verloren der Friedhof von Cofete. Einheimische, Vagabunden, Ertrunkene und Angeschwemmte liegen hier begraben: Ein Loch im Dünensand, ein Hügel aus Vulkangestein, ein notdürftiges Holzkreuz aus Kistenbrettern; vereinzelt ein Name. Über alles braust in unterschiedlichen Stärken, aber regelmäßig der Nordost-Passat, verweht mit dem Strandsand die Gräber und bildet kleine Dünen in jeder Grabstelle. Ein Bild der Verlorenheit – aber auch der Romantik. Die Spuren im feinen Sand verweht augenblicklich der Wind, man ist mit den einsamen Toten allein. Ein Symbol der Vergänglichkeit menschlichen Lebens!
Der Cache:
In der Steinmauer des vergessenen Friedhofes haben wir einen Cache versteckt. Der Friedhof kann, muss aber für die Cachesuche nicht betreten werden.
