
There are really old graves at this cemetery. There is even one
that has been totally covered by vegetation. Another one is so old
that a whole tree has grown on top of it. You will see that the
concrete flower bed that was built around the grave site is broken
because of the roots.
I found an obituary for a woman that you can try to find in this
cemetery. She died in 1961 and she was an immigrant from
Germany.
KOHN, MINNIE CHRISTINE (NO DATE)
Minnie Christine Kohn, daughter of Henry Blume and Augusta Kuhne
was born July 30, 1878 in Trovinz, Hanover, Germany. She was
baptized in the Evangelical Lutheran church in Kl. Fluthe Hanover,
Germany by Pastor Ritterbusch. At the age of six she came from
Germany with her parents who resided on a farm south of
Westmoreland where she grew to womanhood.
On May 20, 1897 she was united in wedlock with Charles F. Kohn.
They resided on a farm south of Wheaton. To this union was born
three sons and one daughter. Two sons died in infancy, her husband
Charles, died August 9, 1934 and one son, Henry, January 28, 1960.
Since the death of her husband, she resided at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. Alfonso F. Kufahl.
On November 1, 1942, she was confirmed by Pastor Hildebrandt of
Duluth. Later he membership was transferred to St. Luke's Lutheran
Church in Wheaton.
After a lingering illness she fell asleep in Jesus October 19,
1961 at Dechairo hospital at the age of 83 years, 2 months and 20
days.
Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Alfonso F. Kufahl; one
daughter-in-law, Mrs. Nina Kohn of Maple Hill; one son-in-law,
Alfonso F. Kufahl; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Goehring and Mrs. Henry
Lelievre, Westmoreland; one brother, Henry Blume, Wamego; two
sisters-in-law, Mrs. Herman Blume, Wamego, and Mrs. W. H. Blume,
Arlington; one brother-in-law Henry Lelievre, Westmoreland; five
grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews
and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 21, at 2:00 in the
afternoon at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Wheaton, and interment
was made in the Fox cemetery south of Wheaton.
Pallbearers were: Bill Blume, Gilbert Goehring, Lester Goehring,
Guy Blume, Argyle Blume and Geo. Mayer, Jr.
Anyways at this area you are looking for a pill bottle that is
camouflaged. I attached some wire ties to the cache to make it
easier to retrieve from its hideout. Please make sure you hide it
well after finding it, and pay special attentio to let the wire
ties accessible for the next geocacher.
The cemetery has not have a curfew but please restrain
yourselves to go find after sunset or if anybody is having a
service or visiting those resting here.
