A short walk over rough ground. To a spectacular view point over Loch Ness & towards Meall Fuar-mhonaidh the sugar loaf dome hill near Drumnadrochit on the N side of the Loch.Grassy parking avaliable just over the cattle grid near GZ.
In order to access this cache you will have to ascend the 'corkscrew' a steep twisty minor road.
Dun Dearduil is a complex of crags towering over 200m above Inverfarigaig. Topped by the remains of a Iron Age Fort. The mame Dun Dearduil translates as Deirdre's Fort from the celtic legend 'Deirdre of the Sorrows'.
The views are stuppendous from the top, beware though the crags are very dangerous and there is no clear path up to the summit (for that reasons the cache is where it is!)
If you choose to....I followed the ridge in from further up the Corkscrew road. Tough going.... but the rewards are there.
Many thanks to Malcolm Wield at FCS Dingwall for granting permission to place this cache.
