End of the Road Traditional Geocache

The cache is accessible from a dirt road originating from Deanville Rd. However, out of courtesy to the residents of this dead-end street, please use the on-street parking on North Ave or there is a single parking spot just under the power lines on Deanville Rd. The camera formerly kept in this cache to make a photo log entry is no longer functional and has been removed, thanks to everyone who participated! Any photos that were readable from the memory card have been posted to this cache page.
The End of the Road also signifies the end of an era when in the early 70's Interstate highway construction began to be opposed by neighbors, environmentalists, cities and towns alike. Interstate 295 was never fully completed due to this change of attitude and terminates rather abruptly at Interstate 95. I-295 was originally planned to extend into Attleboro and terminate somewhere on Route 152 (Pleasant St.) near Lindsey St where there would be a link to Interstate 895. 895 was planned to be the eastern beltway around Providence extending down to Newport and the Jamestown Verazzano Bridge. However, the bridge itself was the only section of 895 that was built.
