Once long ago, there was a man who passed this way.



Located at a memorial plaque remembering the lives of three men who lost their lives in a plane crash of a Cesna N9881X October 26, 1971 in Hovland Mn. The wreckage and remains were finally found 12 years later on May 24th 1983. The family wants you to know of this tragic accident. Take time to read the plaque, then walk down the trail (takes about a minute) to the crashsite if you wish. It is located at N 47° 55.080 W 089° 53.635 Be mindful and respectful to the personal belongings as well as the wreckage strewn about. Say a prayer, then leave.


Destination airport: Devil Track Lake, MN. Visibility reported less than 1/2 mi when aircraft departed North Fowl Lake. Aircraft found 5/24/83.

Take County Road 16 in Hovland to Jackson Lake Road, the cache is located a few steps off Jackson Lake Road. This will not be available in the winter.
