Geocache Description:

Cache is located on the site of St Luke's Anglican Church, and offers a great overlooking view of Little Akaloa bay. The church is open for anyone to look around or reflect in, so watch for potential tourist muggles that might pop out of unexpected places. There are also some short walking trails off the property to explore as well. Car parking is near the church.

J.H. Menzies (Menzies bay is next a few bays over) designed and built the church, carved its font and altar, gave all of the furnishings and executed the Maori carvings and decorations of the interior.
Rumour is, during the prohibition days, Chorlton (on top of the hill) was the dry area of the valley, while Little Akaloa (on the shore of the bay) was where the drinkers lived. Chorlton Hall on the hill offers some generous Devonshire Teas if you're catch them while they're open and is as much a sort of museum of the area, housing a bunch of books and artifacts about the area.

The cache is a small snap-lock container. When hidden it held a logbook, pencil, and pencil sharpener. Please recover with stuff when you replace.
