The CASE 13 expedition was organised by A.P. Karpinsky Russian
Geological Research Institute (VSEGEI), Russia and the Federal
Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR), Germany.

26 scientists visited key areas on the Anjou and De Long islands
for studies related to the geological history of the Arctic,
natural resources and palaeobiology. The expedition used the
icebreaker "Mikhail Somov" as base. During fieldwork I hid four
geocaches in places that I assume will be revisited by later
expeditions:
Kot'lny Polar Station, Kot'elny Island (GC364DX)
Zhokhov Polar Station, Zhokhov Island (presumably muggled almost
instantly by the someone from the ship's crew. Thus not listed on
geocaching.com. Coordinates are: N76.163088, E152.830447)
Henrietta Polar Station, Henrietta Island (GC36AQX)
Toll Memorial Cross, Bennett Island (GC36AR4)
All geocaches feature a completely waterproof box, waterproof
logbooks and a number of CASE 13 expedition logos as souvenirs.
Bring your own pen. I assume that all geocachers who have the luck
to visit this cache are well aware of the dangers in the high
Arctic as, e.g., polar bears.
