The Green County Barn Quilts project started in 2008, and by the
end of 2010 the 100th barn quilt was installed. Barn quilts are
painted wooden squares (designed like one block of a real quilt
pattern), generally 8 x 8 feet in size. Some are located on
"working" barns, and others are displayed on "retired" barns. It's
not as challenging as geocaching, but hunting for the barn quilt
locations is a true adventure in experiencing the roads less
traveled of the Green County countryside.
This barn was built in 1939 and built by Clarence Hermanson. This
is modeled after a quilt that Margaret showed at the CourtHaus
Quilters Quilt show in 2009. This Barn Quilt is called Tennessee
Waltz.
