Geocache Description:

The Green County Barn Quilts project started in 2008, and by the end of 2010 the 100th barn quilt was installed. Barn quilts are painted wooden squares (designed like one block of a real quilt pattern), generally 8 x 8 feet in size. Some are located on "working" barns, and others are displayed on "retired" barns. It's not as challenging as geocaching, but hunting for the barn quilt locations is a true adventure in experiencing the roads less traveled of the Green County countryside.

Farm purchased in 1969 by Elwin Rackow. They believe the barn was built in 1907. Jim and his wife milked 150 cows until 2002. They had started a small venison business along with a mobile slaughtering plant in 1997. The business grew & they sold the cows. They built an inspected kill floor, processing plant in 2003, known as Rackow Family Sausage. They specialize in flavored brats, including pineapple, swiss cheese/peanut butter, dill, tomato/basil. The barn has been renovated for use for reunions, graduation parties, etc. This Barn Quilt is called Noon Light.
