Geocache Description:

I thought this could become part of the Tiny Often Empty Park series, and so I went to investigate. This is a park? It’s shown on the Geocaching/Google maps as River Road Park, but there’s nothing here except for an old gate consisting of an iron bar and concrete pillars and the possible remnants of an old trail behind the gate leading off to the east. The only visitors here would be deer and the occasional hunter, and so I decided that Tiny Always Empty Park was more appropriate.

The cache is a 7"x 5"x 2" lock-n-lock. The initial contents are a new dual-power Casio calculator in its original packaging (folded, though, to fit), some hot cars, a TB from Pennsylvania and, as a special prize for the FTF, a Dunkin’ Donuts card inside the log book with $5.00 loaded on it. There’s a pen in the cache, too.

The cache is on River Road West in Bedminster Township. From I-78, get off at the Rattlesnake Bridge Road Exit (#26), then head south until the first crossroads, then east (left) on River Road West approximately 6/10 of a mile. If you’re coming from US 22 or the Raritan Valley Community College area, you can go north on Rattlesnake Bridge Road and then turn right at the crossroads before you get to I-78. You can park on the shoulder at the old gate, and the cache is only a short walk from there. It’s basically a C&D, but the terrain makes it not handicapped accessible.

Happy Geocaching!
