I have been riding bike on the Lansing Rivertrail since 1994
and
Have rode more then 10,000 miles on it.
There have been many extensions added to the trail over
the
Years. We have loved every add on to the trail. One extension
Allows you to ride all the way to the campus of Michigan
State
University. One that extended the trail to Moore's Park. One of
my
Favorite is the one that extends to Jolly Rd. Through Scott
Wood
And Hawk Island parks.
I have seen many things while riding the trail. Most I can
talk
About a couple it would be better if I didn't mention them at
least
Not on here.
I have seen deer on the trail right in town where you
would
Never think you would see them. Once had a small deer that let
me
Get close enough to pet it. I have seen all sizes of turtles on
the
Trail, garter snakes often scooting across the trail. The
Peacocks
From Potter Park are often on the trail when you get by the
Zoo.
Is the Rivertrail safe? Yes, as a women who has rode it
many
Times all by myself since 1994 I have never had anyone bother me.
I
Have never seen anyone else be bothered by anyone. But use
your
Head. Would I ride it when it is dark out, never.
A couple of weeks ago we took our bikes up to the Wadhams to
Avoca
Trail (a bit west of Port Huron) where there are 106 caches
that
Are on that 12 miles of trail. We had a blast and decided to
put
Out some more caches along Lansing Rivertrail for others to
find.
Thanks to ShirJohn and Team
Namthcof that put the WTA Wadhams to Avoca trail
caches
For inspiring me to put these out on our trail.
None of these cache will put you in any danger of
falling
In the river. Winter friendly geocache.
