Geocache Description:


Kerang-Koondrook Tramway was an Australian Private Railway 1,600mm broad guage running from the State owned Victorian railway at Kerang to the Murray River town of Koondrook, with 4 intermediate stations in between.
The tramway opened in 1889.
The regular passenger serices on the line were withdrawn on 16th December 1976
The last train was a 102hp walker railmotor running a service for school children that was paid by the Education Department.
A railfan special ran on 29th December 1076.
The Historic "Cofffee-Pot" train that was used to opperate between Kerang and Koondrook remains on display near the old station in Koondrook.
