Diksmuide: Regelbau 117b

Een Duits overblijfsel uit WOII. A German relic of WWII.

Duitse bunker uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog. Ca. 1942 wordt in de onmiddellijke
omgeving van het IJzerheemplein een bunkerdorp voor de bevelvoering van de
171ste Infanterie Divisie uitgebouwd. Bij de bouw van het bejaardentehuis
"IJzerheem" werd deze commandopost, met uitzondering van twee bunkers, echter
gesloopt. Dit is een grote commandobunker type 'Regelbau 117b' voor de hogere
bevelvoering. Betonnen bunker op rechthoekige plattegrond met muren tot 3 m
dikte.

VERBODEN DE BUNKER TE BETREDEN = PRIVE!!!

A German relic of WWII.

This is a German bunker from WWII. In 1942 they build a bunker-village on this
place for the command of The 171th Infantry Division. Everything was demolished
except this bunker. The walls of this bunker are 3m thick.
