Geocache Description:

Family Fun Day to Learn about Geocaching
Hosted by Tallahassee Area Geocachers,WFSU and PBS Kids.
November 5th, 2011 9AM to Noon
on the grounds of Lafayette Presbyterian Church
4220 Mahan Drive Tallahassee, FL

Want to find a fun outdoors activity for your family?
Come learn about GEOCACHING!
Geocaching is a super-fun way to get the whole family outdoors with the goal of finding a "hidden treasure" of sorts. At the event, Tallahassee Area Geocachers along with WFSU will be setting up a private geocaching "course" to get parents and their families exploring outdoors. We will teach you the basic rules behind the game, give you help with GPS units, and send you on your way. If you need some help looking for a cache (hidden treasure), we can do that too.

Geocaching is a 'high-tech' sport. A GPS or navigating device makes the game easier to play. The device will point you in the right direction to find what you're looking for. It will also tell you, with limited accuracy depending on the device, how far you are away from your target. WFSU does have a limited number of GPS devices (30) to lend to families on a first-come-first served basis.

There will be prizes to those who find caches. We will also be holding a free raffle to all participants to win their very own geocaching GPS unit!
There will also be a selection of crafts and educational activities for kids of all ages.
Please post your WILL ATTEND! See you there!
