Geocache Description:

I arrived on this warm day at the Hicks staging area to Sierra Azul Woods Trail, intent on picking up some caches I missed a week or so ago. Great hike all the way to where Woods Trail meets Barlow Road.

On the way back, I decided to place a cache. Found a nice spot just a couple of feet off trail. AllSy set! I started my happy-go-lucky walk back when I saw a rangers truck approach. I smiled and waved and he stopped. He asked me those dreaded words, "do you own a white Crossfire?" There goes my perfect day. I said "y-y-e-ss" I just KNEW what he was going to tell me.

He gave me a ride back to the parking lot. A sheriff's truck and 2 ranger trucks were there. My car, the Crossfire, was sitting there with the back window smashed and my purse was gone.......with my life in it. License, digital camera, a few bucks, and credit cards!! AARRGGHH. Spent 1.5 hours with the Sheriff Deputy Bush. She was terrific...very sympathic and she got me the 800 numbers to my CCs so I could put a stop to them right then and there. When I called AMEX, they said my card had been used at two gas stations and a Jack-in-the-Box. I'll never view one of those commercials again w/o thinking of this incident. lol.

I was told by the Deputy Bush and the rangers that several cars along Hicks had been hit. I wasn't alone! Of course, that didn't make me feel any better.

While talking to the sheriff deputy, the two rangers taped a huge white plastic sheet over my back window and made sort of a sling so the remaining "cubes" of glass could fall into it as I drove home.

The worst part? Having to go to the DMV for a replacement license! And, on a Monday! AARRRGGHH..

Anyway, that's why the name of this cache. You are looking for a small flat container along the Woods Trail in Sierra Azule. Please, and this is important, place it back carefully as you found it and keep it covered with the natural camo. BYOP. Happy Hunting and don't leave any important stuff in your car! Lesson learned for me!

Looks like something is trying to crawl through the hole. Silly stuff. Always keep a sense of humor.
