Een oude Fouga Magister op het Recreatief Vliegveld Grimbergen. Gelegd op privé-terrein met toestemming van de vzw RVG.

In lang vervlogen tijden werd de Fouga Magister gebruikt als opleidingsvliegtuig. Eerst bij de Franse luchtmacht, later ook bij luchtmachten van een groot aantal landen, waaronder België. In ons land werd dit model zelfs gebruikt door de "Rode Duivels", het demonstratie-team van de Belgische luchtmacht. Toen ik jong was, eind jaren zestig, begin jaren zeventig, heb ik dit team nog Brussel zien overvliegen tijdens de nationale feestdag.
Hier staat dus nog een oudje van dit succesvolle vliegtuig. Kenmerkend is de V-vormige staart.

In ancient times the Fouga Magister was used as training-fighter. First in the French airforce, later also in numerous other airforces around the globe, among them Belgium. Here it was even used by the "Red Devils", the demonstration-team of the Belgian airforce. When I was young, end of the '60s, early '70s, I remember this team doing fly-overs in Brussels on July 21st.
