This is a DESERT area. Take all the necessary precaution, bring plenty of water and tell someone where you are going.
Following the theme that “Every Desert Road Needs A Cache”, this series is a testament to that thought. These caches have been placed along the BLM roads in the desert east of the Old Holtville Airport.
The caches can be reached by most vehicles. Road surface is hard packed dirt. There will be some sandy places and it could be soft depending on the time of year. Each cache can be walked to with very little problem. It might be helpful to get the NEW BLM road map from the BLM office in El Centro. There are a lot of roads going everywhere would not be hard to get lost.
