Ridges of Danville - Alter Rock Traditional Cache
GeoRedheads: This one was likely my favorite of the "Ridges of Danville" series -- and it appears to be gone. Gonna open up the spectacular spot to let someone else in with something new -- as I won't be back up there anytime soon.

Another traditional cache hidden along a ridge line near Danville,
in Las Trampas.
Ridges, we love 'em. Technically, this cache isn't really in
Danville, but it's close. We redheads love the steep hikes up these
Danville ridges, the exhilaration of getting to the top, and the
views that you find when you get there. And the view you get from
this spot is amazing.
This cache is up in Las Trampas, just west of Bollinger, up over
the top of the ridge, over looking Devil's Hole. And, most
importantly for those of you coming in from that direction, it's
just at the top, right where the hike down into the hole starts to
get really gnarly. If you're coming to this cache from the other
direction, please bring a couple of bottles of water for your
safety.
The cache is a standard LnL, hidden at the base of some rocks on
the ridge, which look like an ancient alter, with a spectacular
view of San Francisco. Awesome! Should be an easy find.
Come enjoy the ridge, the view, and the cache. And if you have a
little extra energy remaining, feel free to hit all of the caches
ditched down in the hole.
