It was early in February of 1945, and near the island of Island of Iwo Jima a Japanese pilot intercepted a transmission between two American ships. He jotted down the transmission, but luckily for the Allies his plane was shot down and he was captured before the message could be relayed on. One of the men who helped capture him confiscated the paper and tucked it away for safe keeping. Recently, his grandchildren were digging through his memory box and came across it.
