FF11# Footloose in Flushdyke Bonus Mystery Cache
mallykay: On a maintenance walk around the series we realised two of the caches had gone missing, footpaths were also none existent in places. We therefore decided to archive the series.
Thanks to all who visited the caches and the feedback over the past few years.

Footloose in Flushdyke is a 3 mile circular walk taking you along footpaths and bridleways. There are 10 caches along the way plus a bonus cache.
The coordinates given are for a suitable parking area, please note that to begin with there are grass verges on which to walk but there is one very short stretch of 150 metres without until you reach the gate to Tufty Farm so please take care with animals and children. (An alternative route to FF2# is available if you choose but involves more road walking.)
Please note that there are a couple of stiles to negotiate and paths can be wet and muddy but none are steep. The usual countryside hazards are in evidence – nettles, brambles, barbed wire and animal droppings!!!
At the time of placing the caches there were no livestock in the fields but If there are cows when you go, be sure to take the usual precautions especially when they are with calves. During the week it is unlikely you will see many people but at weekends the area is a little busier with horses and their riders.
When you have completed the walk why not visit Ossett town centre where there are plenty of places to grab a bite to eat. There is a market on Tuesdays and Fridays. There are also a couple of caches in the centre of town if you need any further temptation!
The bonus cache can be found at N53 41 ABC W001 34 DEF. You will find the missing numbers written on the lids and log sheets along the way so don’t forget to write down the numbers!
The walk is intended as a family friendly excursion. All caches should be easy to find without the need to destroy or disturb any flora and fauna and none have been placed in walls. We hope you enjoy the walk.
