This cache has been placed for GAG 16. Please do not start searching for this cache until 6pm on October 28, 2011.

Solve this puzzle to find the cache.




The scene in the photo is of a large freight canoe being rowed by voyageurs on the French River, a river that runs through the Canadian Shield between Georgian Bay and Lake Nipissing. Solving this puzzle will require you to you identify certain individuals, objects and key words associated with the photo as well as with the voyageurs manning the canoe. You will be given the number of words, the number of letters as well as whether the French or English version of the word is to be used. Add the value of all the letters in the words and add the sum of all these letters to both the North and West portions of the following set of coordinates: N45° 29.548 W75° 24.424. Once you have done this, add 12 to both the North and West coordinates. For example: Question: What is the name given to the voyageurs standing in the rear of the canoe? 1 - 10 - F. The answer is gouvernail, there are 10 letters in the word and the French version of the word must be used when completing your calculations. The value of all letters in the word gouvernail is 124.
