Geocache Description:

The Texas Spirit Quest
is a series of Caches placed by many individuals, near cemeteries and historic sites in hopes of paying respect to the many pioneer ancestors that have ‘walked’ before us.

There are hundreds of cemeteries in the rural communities across Texas. This series will introduce you to many of them. The cache pages will provide a virtual history tour of the cemeteries, tombstones and local lore.

Also known as the Rice's Crossing, Stiba, or Kimbro Cemetery, although in the last case it should not be confused with the Kimbro Cemetery that is in the middle of a field several miles to the west of this spot. There are 32 interments here, ranging from 1869 to 1932. The site is semi-overgrown, but every few years somebody or other fires up a cleaning effort. NOTE: much of the overgrowth here has been cleared as of April 2016.

Be careful in treading about this area, as some patches here and there seem to harbor legions of ants--not the killer variety, but pesky all the same. Do not be afraid to rely on the hint! The coordinates were extremely jumpy hereabouts and I averaged out multiple readings, but I welcome any corrections.
