NEW LOCATIONS - same great trails from 2009 - 2011. Welcome to the groomed cross country ski trails of Michaywe. Trails are designed for cross country skiing and snowshoeing (just keep off the tracks). Please no hiking on the groomed trails. Study the ski trail map at the “Related Web Page” above or visit the michaywe.com web site (click on living, then maps, then ski trails).
EXPERIENCED SKIERS ONLY! This trail is classified as "most difficult". The trail has steep hills with sharp curves. If you're not comfortable on cross country skis, then you should snowshoe this section of trail or at least remove your skis on the steeper sections.
This is a six stage multi cache inspired by the KOPpA Trail Cache (GCPBKM) by the DinoDuo in Grayling. Park behind the clubhouse near the Pines Golf Pro Shop and ski the South Lake Trail for a short distance to reach the Maple Ridge Trail (see ski map). Parking and a yellow donation box is available at N 44 56.454, W 84 38.115. Feel free to donate a buck or two if you enjoyed the trails. The stages were placed just off the Maple Ridge Trail, so follow the trail as it twist and turns. Don't worry what your gps says, just continue down the trail and you'll get there. The trail is a challenging 2 mile ski, not for the young ones!
You must record the letter/number combinations at each stage, so bring a notepad and writing tool. The clues are case sensitive, so copy carefully. Some of the stages are containers, and some are not. Once you have gathered the 10 clues, arrange them in order to spell: "MAPLE ridge"

***IMPORTANT – You must use the trail system to claim credit as a find. Parking is available on streets that intersect with the trail or at the clubhouse. Our association dues pay for the grooming of these beautiful trails so you must ski or snowshoe to these caches – do not hike in. Please respect the trail rules and the intent of the winter cache series. Have fun, it’s about the adventure!
