As close as I can get it to the river, at this spot! If grabbing this cache a person should definetly allow time to drive on down the county road to appreciate the beautiful Current River!
The most spring fed river! In 1964, over 134 miles of the upper course of the river and its tributaries were federally protected as the Ozark National Scenic Riverways, the first national park in America to protect a river system.
The Current River begins in Montauk State Park located in the southwestern corner of Dent couty. The confluence of Pigeon Creek and Montauk Spring form the headwaters of the river.
Crystal clear water, hardwood trees, rock ledges, caves, springs, gravel bars, and towering limestone bluffs line the banks of this beautiful river. It is more gravel but, Co. Rd. 6500(White Oak Holler Rd.) is a real pretty drive.
Congratulations to seskds and BTG1 for FTF!!!!
Permission granted by the Missouri Department of Conservation, Thanks Mike!!!
