Geocache Description:

A cache located in the scenic (but hilly) village of Cradley. Easy access by road with parking available. Suitable for all ages, and abilties.
The cache is located on public property outisde the churchyard.

This cache has been hidden as the first of the ‘William’s’ caches and is located in the beautiful village of Cradley where my in-laws live, and noted for its lack of geocaches. The cache is a plastic lidded tub, big enough to hide a trackable or 2, and when set up contained a set of Russian style dolls, crayons, an eraser, a Jokers card as well as the obligatory log book and pen.
St James' Church has been a place of Christian worship for many centuries. Evidence of a Norman church can be seen in the south doorway and in the lower part of the tower. The upper part of the tower is later and dates from the late fourteenth or early fifteenth century.
The lych-gate is partly sixteenth century with restoration work carried out in 1988 and the great churchyard yew trees were estimated in 1988 to be over eight hundred years old and possibly older.
This area enjoys a regular church service, and is well populated by muggles, who overlook the cache site. Dog walkers are numerous, at all times of the day. If you have time, it’s well worth a look around the area, as it has a number of the famous black & white timber frame Hereford houses

Congrats to Jaybeez for the first to find this cache
