First of 3 caches hidden around Widdop/Gorple reservoirs as part of Watershed Landscape project to help protect, conserve and enhance access to the South Pennine uplands. Cache is just off main path along side of Widdop Reservoir (free carpark on Halifax Road). Follow main path across embankment to far side of reservoir and through gate. Path begins to slope gently upwards. Terrain is easy, suitable for pushchairs on dry days. Cache located at the side of the public right of way near the wall
The cache is a small plastic box containing information about the project, a log book, pen/pencil and a stash of small poetry art cards (the size of business cards) for finders to take. In each cache the finder will discover a card with a piece of mini art and the verse of a poem by artist Sally Barker and poet Andrew McMillan who have both been inspired by the moorlands around the area. Whilst discovering the landscape, finders can collect the poetry art cards to build a full poem. We would love finders to take a card and leave their own line of poetry in the log book.

Find the Grouse grit box (an essential part of the Grouse's diet to help their digestive systems) and you're close!
