Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
These Cache & Dashes are nice easy stops to break up a long journey, giving you a chance to look at vistas and find hidden places missed when driving.
You do not need to go near the road to get the cache.
Remember all normal precautions need to be taken when stopping in a lay-by near a busy road!
You are looking for a 35ml film pot container, only containing a logbook, so please bring your own pen to sign the log book.
Heading WEST on the A44 the lay-by is on your LEFT. There are two lay-bys close together... the one you want is the second with a driveway entrance in the middle.
Heading EAST the lay-by is on your RIGHT just after the village of Llandegley.
The view to the North East is a vista of the distinctive feature of the region which is a rock dome called Radnor Forest (Welsh: Fforest Faesyfed). It is not a forest in the usual sense of being a heavily wooded area, but in the medieval sense of "forest" being an unenclosed area used for hunting. It is now a land of hill farming and great moorlands, with steep narrow valleys.
The highest point is Great Rhos or Fawr Rhos, a broad featureless plateau which reaches 660 metres (2,165 ft), and a similar plateau adjoining to the east is Black Mixen.
