The Morrisville Dog Park is nestled on the corner of South Delmorr and East Philadelphia Avenues right along the scenic Delaware River. The invasive plants along the river have recently been cleared for easy access and enjoyment of the waterfront. The dog park officially opened June 26, 2010 (my wedding day!). There are benches and a separate area for small dogs under 36 pounds. The size of the park is close to two acres. It's a great place for dogs and people to socialize. There is no fee or registration required for entrance.
The Friends of the Morrisville Dog Park supports and maintains the park. The group came together in 2008. Through fund raisers and private donations, they were able to raise enough money for the fence and installation, and the dog waste bag holders, that the members check and refill when needed. The four benches in the park have also been donated. The Friends of Morrisville Dog Park have just started to fund raise again so that in the near future the park will have trees and running water.
Park along the road on Green Street, South Delmorr Avenue, or East Philadelphia Avenue and walk over to the cache. DO NOT PARK on the driveway near the cache. It is an access drive used frequently by the railway and as the sign states, it is for "Authorized Vehicles Only". DO NOT PARK on the grass. There are signs all along the perimeter of the park saying it is against Boro ordinance.
Cache container could be considered a small "regular" or a large "small". Please use stealth! Bring a dog for easy cover. The place may *seem* deserted at times, but then suddenly there are people driving through, sitting in parked cars watching the river, working on the railway, and entering and exiting their homes on the street. This should be an easy find, but take care in replacing the cache to make sure it's properly covered. This is the cache's new location after the original was muggled. This new spot should make the finders look less conspicuous while searching and logging. Have a seat and enjoy the view of the river while you sign the log.
Oh, and Indiana Bones gives the Morrisville Dog Park his paw print of approval... "WOOF!"
