A pleasant layby with an excellent view and an information point, although you do have to step over the guard rail to read it! The trees on the steep side of Arrad Hill (other side of d/c) are also worth a moment to study. The view changes with the seasons and the weather, plus the state of the tide. The Cumbria Coastal Way runs alongside the layby.
The road here follows the course of the old railway line, which crossed the estuary about where the new concrete bridge is. If you scramble down to the path along the shore you will see the original railway stonework, with what looks like a platform end-slope towards the south end of the layby. Note: you don't need to cross the fence to find the cache.
Please take care retrieveing and replacing the cache.
Also take great care of the fast moving traffic when exiting your vehicle, and when rejoining the flow.
