Cache is located in Whitey-Lee Park in Monroeville, Alabama.
Cache is placed down a rather steep hill that has brick stairs and a pathway leading to within 20 feet of the cache. Wheelchairs and strollers will not be able to get to this one.
I would recommend only searching for this one in daylight hours, as there are no lights in the immediate area of the cache and it IS a steep hill.
You are looking for a camo micro container hidden very near a brick wall with a painting done by myself, my best friend Jill Kirkland, and another group of teenagers back in the mid nineties.
Back then this just seemed like a huge empty canvas to us, so we got permission to paint this mural here and add a little color and imagination to the park.
Not so very long after it was completed,my friend Jill passed away, and this became one of the places that I, and a few others, came to mourn the loss of our friend.
Back when this was originally done, there were butterflies painted on one side of the wall that had our initials incorporated into their wings. The only one that still remains today is one with the initials J.L.K.
If you have time to find one of my other caches: J.L.K. - A Quiet Place To Rest(GC36RRX), you will be able to see a recreation of the butterfly and the central dancing figure in the mural on her headstone and grave marker.
Cache is placed in a kind of steep area, so be careful not to go tumbling down the hill. Please be sure to reseal container and ziploc securely to preserve the log for future cachers.
There should be ample parking in the upper parking lot(except for during special events), or on the lower road near the lake.
Bring some bread and feed the ducks if you like... I know they would!
