Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden in the Parish Church of Falkland! This cache meets the Urban Placement Guidelines.

This cache is hidden in the Parish Church in the village of Falkland. A few muggles about so be careful! Terrain is nice and flat but you'll need to bring your own pen(cil) for the logbook as it's a micro, as the name should suggest. There are lots of walks and attractions in Falkland, so you can do both those and the cache in your visit.

This cache is part of a series "borrowed" from Mental Medic in Ireland who "borrowed" the idea for his series from sadexploration in England who could well have "borrowed" it from someone at some point. But you get what I'm saying. As the name may suggest, all these caches are designed as drive by's to get at churches.

This church was built in 1850 on the site of two previous buildings. The first church on this site was erected in 1595 (after Falkland received its royal charter. This building was replaced in 1620, but was said to be in poor condition by the 1840s, necessitating its demolition. The present church was built between 1848 and 1850, and consists of a four bay main cell and a three stage tower. It is built from coursed stugged ashlar and has a Scottish slate roof. The church is situated in the centre of the village and faces south onto the High Street.
