Geocache Description:

This is one of a series of caches in an area I love, because I grew up here. Stealth needed because of the residential properties overlooking the area.

Started in 1934 this estate was planned to be a housing development of around 1000 art deco houses. They were designed by Oliver Hill. Hill was given a free reign in his design of the new residential town. He ensured that the tone of the estate would do nothing to attract day-trippers from London, keeping Frinton for the well kept and well bred, whilst making the estate a showcase for modern British design. Sadly it was never completed and development stopped in 1936. As a teenager I did a paper round in this area. Cache is a custom. Please hide well after signing the log. Thanks.
