This is one in a series of caches entitled "Take a Hike" that was placed by The Lynch Three between 2011-2012. There are no puzzles, no hard multis, or no challenging hides in this series; instead, what they share in common is a good hike in the woods, enjoyable in any season.
The Lynch Three has been retired from caching for a while now, so I adopted some of this series so that others could have the same experience of taking a great hike like I once did!
The Greene Street trailhead is now quite overgrown, and, in fact, so is the rest of the trail. When I hiked here for the first time, I found the trail to abruply end with a massive fallen tree. The reason why the former CO and I agreed not to archive this one is because the views on the beautiful Shawsheen River are unlike any other.
(The Lynch Three, 2011) I have always known that there was a trail near this part of the Shawsheen, but I did not know that it extended for about a half mile in length. This cache only covers the first half of that walk, for I found this half to be more scenic. Parking and the trailhead (with a nice signboard) are at the end of Greene Street; about halfway to GZ you'll come upon a little bench with a nice view of the river. Enjoy your hike!
