valsetzpegleg: Some are willing to work for a smiley, others aren't and complain. So a history cache is archived. Too bad!

Fifth Avenue

Not Fifth Avenue, New York, but on Avenue C and Fifth street south, Camp Adair, Oregon.
In honor of a past co-worker from Valsetz, Oregon. Emil Yaroma served in the Army in WWII. He was from New York City. He was posted here at Camp Adair after serving at Camp White, near Medford. Somehow, he met Juile, who lived in Falls City. Being young, and in love, he made the trip to Falls City and back any time he could –ON FOOT! Though Emil was from New York, here is where he married Juile and made his home. When I was the carpenter on the Valsetz townsite crew, Emil was the roofer and painter. Emil is gone now, as are so many of our WWII vets.
