Well here’s a chance to get a shoe in (on)

There once grew a tree
So stately & proud
You really could tell
It stood out in the crowd
Shelter it gave to fur & to feather
Shade was its gift to all in hot weather
And the valley stayed green
‘cos the air it did clean
Then the lightening did hit
Now it’s dead as a nit
So ….
Let’s show that we cared
& give shoes that were weared
To make it ever so pretty
That folks from the city
Will come for a smile
But just for a while….
‘Till the developers come
& then ‘twill be done.
