efrodo: The frame for the map sign has been replaced and no longer portrays the animal footprints so I'm archiving this one. Thanks for some great logs.

Geocache Description:

Proud Members Of

Dale N Barb started a series of "Welcome to" caches along the Space Coast. I've added one that brings you into a little know gem of a sanctuary with the wonderfully playful name of The Enchanted Forest. Park hours are Tuesday through Sunday 9:00am to 5:00pm; closed on Mondays. There are over 4 miles of hiking trails on this 471 acre sanctuary. The Visitor Center includes an education center with a hands-on exhibit room, a discovery room, gift shop, reference library and bathrooms. Just outside is a huge screened porch. Behind the visitor center is a butterfly garden and a little to the west is the Ancient Oak Amphitheater.

The Enchanted Forest preserves important scrub habitat along the Atlantic Coastal Ridge. Florida scrub vegetation is a rare and vanishing ecosystem. It supports a number of animals that have become threatened or endangered including the Gopher Tortoise, Florida Scrub Lizard, Eastern Indigo Snake, Florida Scrub Jay and the Florida Mouse. It’s truly an enchanting place where you almost expect to turn a corner and find dragons or elves, gnomes, unicorns or other such whimsical creatures step right out of a storybook and greet you. In such a magical place, ammo cans might grow to an enormous size. The coordinates for this Unknown Cache bring you to a map of these Enchanted Lands, the rest of the adventure is up to you.

To locate this cache, you will need to study the map at these coordinates. Count the number of single Bobcat tracks on the sign and look for the anonymous quote. Follow the advice given in the quote and take one step for every Bobcat track you counted. From this new position, look around for the nearest dead tree. The cache is tethered to a branch behind the dead tree. I left several pathtags for trades.
