St. Paul, 1925
Initially a mission of St. Mary's in downtown St. Petersburg, St. Paul's first building was a one-story school. After the arrival of its first pastor in 1929, a building boom began that would see a convent, rectory, church, school additions, and even a high school constructed over the next 25 years. The church (1939) boasts an elegant red brick exterior in a classic Roman style. Franciscan Sisters of Allegany have been present at the parochial school, the oldest Catholic school in Pinellas County, from its earliest days.
