This is a great little park for the local little league teams. I've always enjoyed driving by this park and watching the kids play. As I was about to post this cache I noticed on google maps that there was a Hobart school at this location. After some reseach courtesy of the Maple Valley Historical Society here is a brief history of the location.
FTF gets a car wash!
This park is located where the original District #75 School once stood, along with a gymnasium where the now Hobart firestation is. The school was built in the late 1800's and under school district #75 with no name. Later on it became Hobart School. As the area started to grow the Taylor, Hobart and Maple Valley school districts merged together to form what we now know as TaHoMa school district. As the years went by and more people moved into the area the schoool district built new schools and eventually the school became obsolete and was demolished in 1959. Remnants of the old school are still there with the cement walkway behind the bleachers being the original walkway into the school. The Johnny Lazor Baseball field is the original field from the 1800's.
Congrats to Libertyfan76 and Brasstax on their FFTF
